Summit pushes / high-altitude trekking are for fit, prepared travellers aiming to reach Mount Kenya’s high points — most commonly Point Lenana (4,985 m) — on classic routes such as Sirimon, Chogoria, Mackinder/Teleki or Chogoria. These multi-day programmes focus on gradual acclimatisation, careful pacing and proper rest so climbers can safely tackle long ascent days and enjoy the mountain’s dramatic glacial landscapes, tarns and panoramic summit views. Unlike technical rock-climbing routes (Nelion/Batian), Point Lenana is a non-technical summit that rewards preparation and good altitude management rather than technical rope work.
Your summit itinerary will include staged overnight camps or huts, guided acclimatisation hikes, porter support (if required), and a final pre-dawn push to the summit so you reach the summit at sunrise. Professional, experienced mountain guides lead every trip, monitor altitude symptoms, advise on clothing and kit, and handle logistics including park permits and emergency plans. Best seasons are the drier months (January–March, June–October); we’ll tailor the route, pace and kit list to your fitness level and any add-ons (e.g., wildlife extensions to Laikipia, Samburu or a nearby safari circuit) so you get a complete Kenyan adventure.
